Can't get into CVS

I'm having a heck of a time connecting to CVS. I followed the directions (and I'm using the recommended 1.3 version), yet every time I try to connect, it will take my password then sit there for several minutes and finally output:
Logging in to :pserver:ariel001@cvs.garagegames.com:2401:/cvs/tse
cvs [login aborted]: connect to cvs.garagegames.com:2401 failed: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.
***** CVS exited normally with code 1 *****

I have searched for "wincvs tse" and other variants, but I have not found this information. Any suggestions?

It would be nice if they'd update the documentation then... I have searched for "wincvs tse" and other variants, but I have not found this information. Any suggestions?

Simply put, it isn't you. The documentation on this IS misleading (more than one spot) and the search engine is wacked ( see www.garagegames.com/mg/forums/result.thread.php?qt=48005. I went through that too. I pick through the "unread forum posts" every day, to keep up-to-date. You'll always find stuff that interests you anyways.

FYI, we are in the process of updating the TGEA documentation right now. It'll make its way onto the site soon.

Perhaps the first thing to do is to edit the automatic "Getting Started with the Torque Shader Engine" email that get's sent to new purchasers of the SDK, so it doesn't tell you about the CVS repository. It would have saved me and hour ;)

I agree, and I will see what I can do to get that removed to save sanity/confusion.

I definately agree with that too! I just wasted the last 3 hours trying to get into cvs!

OK, thanks for feedback, I'll look into this. New docs are up in TDN:tdn.garagegames.com/wiki/TGEA/InstallVS2005

Simply put, there is no CVS now.
