Hey guys

Not sure if anyone really cares but i only recently discoevered that the source code for the brilliant space game freespace 2 has been released. (Its prolly old news)

anyway you can find it right here

http://www.freespace-2.com/ddn/sources/freespace2/

it includes all the workspaces and what not to compile (however u would need models e.t.c)

Interesting to note on this page some suggestions for updating.

Such as bringing directx from version 5 to current.

Increasing models polycounts.

Adding better lighting e.t.c

So for anyone wanting to make a space game this could be the start your after.

Nah you cna't use it for commercial use I believe. I foudn the source code really odd as teh actual engine/game code is all in ONE FILE. got really confusing (the file starts off with like 100 #include directives). Of course i've been told that it has some of teh best particle effects seen, so I might look there for some theory on some effects i cna't find information about elsewhere.
