Multiple Triggered IFLs

Hey everyone,
Does anyone have some useful info on setting up a vehicle with multiple separately triggered IFL sequences on the same piece of mesh. Basicially I am creating a car which will have break lights and reverse lights, which obviously must get triggered from different keyboard/input controls. At the moment this must trigger different images with in the IFL sequence. How would I set this up in max? From here it should be simple to then trigger a separate IFL sequence elsewhere on the vehicle.
Whilst on this topic, would there be any coding to back up my DTS setup that I should be aware of?
Whilst posting, does anyone know which object in the DTS casts shadows? Is it the highest LOD or something like the Collision mesh? Looks to me like the highest LOD, but it would be great if someone could confirm that for me?
Thanks
