Problem with CVS?

I have been trying to connect to the CVS and I'm not having much luck. I have tried 3 different CVS clients on a windows machine and still nothing all I get is an error message saying that the server didnt respond in the alloted time. I have double checked my login/password several times I dont think that is the problem. any ideas??

CVS has been discontinued, and this has been mentioned in at least 5 threads over the last two months.
