To All Utah Area Indie's,
Our next Utah Indie Games Night will be held on Thursday, January 18th, at 7 pm at the Ninja Bee offices in Orem. Thanks once again to Ninja Bee for hosting this event. Email me if you need directions to get there.
Again, format will be like last time, an informal get together to chat, eat pizza, talk about the industry, see what others are doing, show off your current project, etc. Please bring some cash to chip in for the pizza and munchies, if you can. Introductions will be kept brief, and if you have a demo to show please let me know (if you haven't already), so we can plan on it better.
The event is open to anyone with an interest in Indie Games, so feel free to pass the word along. The group has also started a website (wiki) at www.utahindiegames.org, but there's not much content there yet. Hopefully it will grow and be useful to the group.
If you have any other suggestions, please let me know. Hope to see everyone there!

How often do are these things going to happen?

Every couple of months. With my luck, like usual, it will occur during the rehearsals for my production of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. Like clockwork!

are these gathers to show off each others work or are there general discussions on how to improve each other projects?

Excellent...are these gathers to show off each others work or are there general discussions on how to improve each other projects?

I have the unfortunately problem of always having something major going on when they can have it, which pisses me off considerably! Game dev's and pizza about 3 hours away! I mean, what more could I ask for? Oh yeah...a better schedule for my life!

At each gathering, somewhere around 5 or 6 people have demos of their work (at all stages) to show and receive feedback. I'd say about half the time people are looking at these demos and the other half just talking to the other people there about the various aspects of game dev.
Highly recommended!

They occur just about every three months; the next one will probably be in April. At each gathering, somewhere around 5 or 6 people have demos of their work (at all stages) to show and receive feedback. I'd say about half the time people are looking at these demos and the other half just talking to the other people there about the various aspects of game dev.

Brett, if you want to get on the list also, just let me know as well (via email).

David, Sorry the last several Indie Nights haven't worked with your schedule. If you want to get on our notification list, please send me an email (the address is in my profile) and I can add you to the email list. I usually send out an email to the group about a month before, so that I can nail down a day that works for most everyone. So if you're on the list, you could at least let me know what days work or don't work for you. Hopefully we can find something that works with your schedule next time.Brett, if you want to get on the list also, just let me know as well (via email).
