Expanding the vehicle system in TGEA

As a recent purchaser of the TGEA, one of the things I need to do is figure out and expand on the current vehicle system.

I'm brand new to the engine, so my progress will probably be small and slow, but I plan to pour over the existing resources and hopefully combine the knowledge into one system that supports a large variety of vehicles (wheeled (including motorcyles), hover, flying (plane) fying (helicopter), tracked, boats, submersibles, etc).

I have one question, however. Are there any planned changes to TGEA that would affect the development of a more robust vehicle system, and if so, what are they? I'd like to know beforehand so that I can plan accordingly.

If anyone else is already working on a project of this nature (or would like to) and would like to collaborate, please let me know. I'm quite sure I could use all the help I can get.
