Lightwave Exporter Question

Well, I am still reletively new to the whole 3d modeling aspect of torque. I currently have LW 9 and the DTS exporter installed. I have gotten it to work on 1 object (an airstrip kinda thing), but there is a problem with the materials and collisions. When I don't put the collisions on (mesh), it gives me a wierd material that almost looks like it reflects the sky. When I put the collisions on, it worked, but it was all the same color and wouldn't be lit. You couldn't tell the building from the strip. It was just all gray.
In both situations, it didn't give me the materials I applied. I had saved all objects, and I had tried both turning on the "export materials" setting and turning it off. Do I need to do a UV map for it to show up? I am sure it is probably somthing I am doing. Any help is... helpful. Thanks.

I figured out the Colllision layer, but my brain hadn't comprehended moving the texture to the folder. I aslo knew about the textures being to the power of two (I do skinning for think tanks). I will try moving the textures and the other suggestions you mentioned later on. Right now, it is time to go to bed and wait for my pare- I mean santa to come. Thanks for the help, and ::Insert desired holiday here::.

Can i see your object loaded in showtool with the materials window open?

Thank you, though. Now maybe if I can convince the rest of my team to start moving, we may be able to get the game done on time ;)

Nvm, I figured it out with the help of a lightwave UV mapping tutorial and your tips from above. The only difficult part currently is exporting the texture template for the UVmap so I can edit it. Thank you, though. Now maybe if I can convince the rest of my team to start moving, we may be able to get the game done on time ;)

Make sure you hae the texture you are using in the same location as your new .dts. Export Materials dosnt mean it moves the image to the location of the DTS.
Also, Textures for Game engines must be a power of 2. IE: 32 x 32 , 64 x 64, 128 x 128 ETC...
But they can also be any mix of two, IE 64 x 128 ETC...
The colision box need to be on a seprate layer in lightwave, then on your objects tab, set your first layer to "Export as mesh or node" and the second to Collision meahs, back on the generial tab, make sure or collision you have "Use mesh".
In none of this solves your issue, post back here and ill help some more, but thies are exporter 101 most common goofs.
