Thanks everyone so much for the help, i now understandQuote:However I am not sure you understand the implications of a normal map.Thak, i already know that *takes away his prize and break it*
Normalmaps are not just a 2d images drawn by texture Artist. You need a modeller to create a highpoly (up to cinematic quality) model and then raycast its normals information onto the lowpoly model.
Which means that the introduction of normalmaps had a significant impact on production cost.

No $200 for each model

Keep us posted on development. I would really like to see what it will look like once done.

Any updates on the models? just wondering.

I wouldn't take less than $5,000 per next gen character (without animations).. up and down depending on specs...
You may want to just scour the boards for people looking to join a mod team just for the sake of working on something...

There has never been provided any update on the models, so I'm guessing nothing serious when out from that real *bargain*.
I still need to be proved I'm wrong! ;)

Oh wow - I didn't check the dates on the posts previous.. totally old thread :P
Torque Owner Thak
The quote I gave earlier was for a 1500 poly model with a single diffuse map at 512 pixel resolution. It should not take an experienced Artist more than two or three working days (16-24 hours) to do that.
However I am not sure you understand the implications of a normal map.

I would advise every Indie and modder to stay away from normal mapping. Its gonna cost way more than you think if you outsource it, and it will take up so much time you could spend on other things if you do it yourself.
