Will TGE run on windows Vista wo modifications?

by xentar · in Torque Game Engine · 12/11/2006 (12:19 pm) · 4 replies

I read that windows vista comes with Managed DirectX 10, so my question is...

if i develop a game in tge 1.5, will it runs efficently in Vista and without any modification to the torquescripts code?

and if the answer says "use Torque X" (i just know the name), will Torque X code run on an XP machine?

thanks a lot.

The problems that I have seen with Vista have been related to manufacturer drivers. As to whether manufacturers will iron out those problems, I do not know.

It should also be noted that Torque X is not TGE for C# and Windows. Torque X will run on XP, though. In fact, XNA is oriented towards it (as well as Vista compatibility).

XNA Studio is not supported on Vista (dunno if it'll run or not), according to the FAQ on the XNA home page. Vista support will be added in a future release.

EDIT: Redid some of the wording

Ah. I thought that Vista testing was part of the last beta. My mistake.
