Changing the V12 tech

I have a question regarding changes made to the V12 tech. Suppose I license the tech and wish to make changes to it at a systems level to accomodate certain requirements of the game, and these changes are not necessarily fit for consumption by the general public. Is this permissable? The EULA mentions not reverse engineering the source code, however FAQs and interviews with GG seem to indicate that modifications to the engine are supported. Is it sort of a GPL type of thing where modifications can be made but must be provided for all? Thanks in advance,

The reverse engineering thing is just one of those items the lawyers on both side wanted. I know, doesn't make much sense with source code does it. Basically we want you to hack up every bit of the code if necessary to make your game. Some people will make changes that the entire community could benefit from and wish to submit them back to GG to either be integrated into future V12 releases or hosted as a download. You are not obligated in any way to release any code modifications/additions to GG or the public.

Thanks for the prompt reply Rick. Sounds all in all like you folks are providing a great opportunity and taking great risks. I hope you guys are successful and I look forward to the release and being able to develop my own games on the side with it.
