oh yeah, im impressed now :)
this rocks, just now got around to running this new binary.
very cool, did not build the lighting for me?
but man it smoked my windows bigtime.
normally on my PIII 1000 w/512mb and GForce3
when I use third person with the realm wars...
and view the whole city, it slows down bad dropping to approx 32 fps
more when not viewing city up to 90 when in first person looking at terrain or sky.
(Win2k)
But with my Slackware, and the Newest Nvidia drivers.
Im able to get over 90 frames while viewing the whole city.
and over 70 when having character and city.
.. compared to what I had with the last torque binary and a simpler mission
and the older nvidia drivers... I am very excited :)
Edit:
hmm Seems to not Load the lighting for me .. maybe a path problem somewhere?
using alt+l when editing applies the lightmap tho
P.S.
Somehow for the first time ever I was able to open the mission editor while connected to a server (I was connected to the now running realm wars server)
and I pressed F11 .. and it opened and gave me a treeview, that started with the root group.
in that tree was all the groups.
including a selection for each named group.
It was rather interesting :)
a one time thing tho I have not had it do it again.

I don't think I can take credit for the performance increase. The new version did include one additional compiler optimization, but your performance increase is probably due to the 2880 drivers or the fact that it isn't applying the lighting.
For the lighting, you might try pulling down the console to see if there are any related error messages. There could be permissions problems on the files.
I think the F11 issue has been there since the original realm wars release and is not linux specific.
