Question on code usage

This is something that has always been on the back of my mind and I have yet to find a clear answer for, I have been wondering about using people's code samples they post and resources in TDN.
I realize there are only so many ways to write in torque to say hello world so a lot of code looks the same, but what about using someone else's code or resource they have posted in the forums or in TND, do you need to aquire premission from them, or is it that if you make a contribution to the community than you can have at it?

Is is safe to assume that code samples posted in the Forums or in TDN, it purpose is to empower other developers to learn concepts and techniques, so yes "have at it" and no special permission is required.
