Journal Playback across Platforms

Hey all,
I've got some pretty important journals I need to play back. Do they play back across platforms OK? If not, how exact do I have to match the playback system configuration with the one that recorded it?
Also, anyone know an easy way to convert these to videos? I'll have to do some seeking back & forth on these, and would like some reverse and fast-forward abilities :-)
Thanks,

Journals are more useful for tracking down crashes and recreating intermittent bugs especially those that may be input related.

If you're just after playback for a visual purpose then you may be better off recording demos than journals. Journals are more useful for tracking down crashes and recreating intermittent bugs especially those that may be input related.

As for cross platform playback, i'm not sure about that. However I do know that if you do a recording and then change the mission file that the recording was done on, even a small amount, torque 1.4 crashes when it trys to play it back. Not sure if it is fixed in Torque 1.5 though as I havn't purchased it yet. Waiting for pay day. :+}
Hope this helps.
