    Torque Game Builder is for 2D games, and comes with a fancy editor for 2D games.

    Torque Game Engine is for 3D games, and comes with slightly less fancy editors for 3D games.

    I agree that the difference isn't exactly super clear on the front page; I had the same question a while back.
