Google Search

With the release of Google Coop I am wondering how Google Search Appliance customers feel. Do you feel cheated in any way? I mean, yeah you had site search for a year or two before the rest of us who didn't have the money to spend on the appliance, but you are also out a few thousand dollars.

The Search Appliance seems like a rip-off now, I don't know why anyone (other than large corporations with private areas they want to spider) would be willing to buy it.

In GG's case: your Search Appliance only finds about 2,330 documents on garagegames.com (Search string), whereas Google has 51,600 (Search string).

So, what are your thoughts? Feel ripped off?

Not really the same thing - the Google appliance is hosted in it's own box, this uses Googles own servers.

I know that, but with a simple script you can host the search box and results on your own page.

What I am getting at is - is the Google Appliance really any better, whether it's hosted or not? Look at the numbers - it's obviously not better and it costed a couple thousand dollars.

Does more results equal better results?
