Torque 1.5 Downloads Temporarily Down (due to High Demand)
by Kyle Carter · in Torque Game Engine · 10/25/2006 (9:03 am) · 48 replies
Hey guys,
The download system for 1.5 is temporarily down for maintenance. The level of demand for the 1.5 SDK was higher than expected, leading to some problems we are now in-process to correct.
We will be posting updates to this thread as the situation develops.
Once the system is back up, Torque 1.5 downloads will resume.
Thanks for your patience!

absolute Crap.
every game I have I can only play Once.
then reboot, or I get Mad artifacts and missing polies.
however, only with DirectX crap.
OpenGL games are fine.
rofl.
but they are so far and few between now, that not one of the games I play has OpenGL.

What does the profiler show? What if you run it under gdebugger or nvperfhud (I think the latter supports GL)?
We've been running the demo on a variety of cards w/ no ill effects, so is deeply mysterious you're having problems... but we definitely want to get the info so we can fix it!

with all the goodies in the stronghold map im not suprised I dont get wicked fps average(20-30) but I have noticed 2 things,
1, I think this is more of a safeguard but am not sure why, in the walkthrough, in the stronghold map and on a new mission with nothing except Kork, I get a maximum of 64.1fps - strange?
2, running a debug build I get a maximum of 7fps on the stronghold map and a maximum of 64fps but avarage 35fps everywhere else
Operating System: Windows XP Home
Processor: AMD Sempron 3100+ (1802mhz single core running in 32 bit mode)
Memory: 1024mb (single stick)
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce A 7600 GS TDH 256MB 8xAGP (made by Leadtek Winfast)
Display Mode: 800x600 32bit windowed in opengl on a 1280x1024@75hz lcd
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c
Driver: Forceware 91.47
on a very similer machine winxp home, with a GeForce 6600GT 128mb DDR 8xAGP and only 512mb of ram, the fps is about 10 more than I get and on the same new mission it gets around 153fps,
and funnily enough I get the similer fps in linux on a Geforce FX5500 256mb card, which makes a realy nice change that linux beats my winbox when it has a 3 year old mobo & processor
I have tried using nvperfhud but it wont work, and the docs say card not supported, but may work?!!? typical
and the gdebugger stops in 2 places with the following
Process event - NVIDIA GLExpert Report:
Report details:
GLExpert: OpenGL Error report; A provided numeric argument is out of range OGL Error Code = 0x00000501
Process event - OpenGL error:
Function Name: glTexParameterf
Error code: GL_INVALID_VALUE.
Error description:
A numeric argument is out of range. The offending function is ignored, having no side effect other than to set the error flag.
these 2 happen 1 after the other as the main window starts before the gg splash screen apears
