Direct X 10

Hey guys,
Direct X 10 is about to launch and all my money is locked for the new NVIDIA GPU's and I was wondering if there may be any issues with Torque on DX 10, or maybe with TSE since a lot of stuff will be added, changeda and possibly removed completely.
Have you guys ever taken a look at all the new titles featuring Dx 10!? They are all aswesome but my favorite title will be Crysis, kind of funny that everything from Crytek includes the "cry" somewhere in their name: "Crytek", "Far Cry", "Crysis", "Cry Engine". Maybe its just me. xD

That means that it wont be compatible?

So in theory it should work fine.

DirectX 10 is all new core code, from the ground up. Unlike previous versions of DirectX (DX to DX9) which were all built up from previous versions. There is NO solid backwards compatibility, However DX 10 will emulate DX8 and DX9. How good is the emulation? that's still in the wind, but from what I gather, from talking to some testers, it works well with DX 9 stuff, just not as good on old DX8 stuff. So in theory it should work fine.

I wouldn't count on seeing a DX10 port anymore than OpenGL unless either are done in the community.

Please don't make comments regarding things that we haven't even begun to discuss, thanks.

Oh no that an employee is involved i would really want to know more, I know that Torque runs on the 8800GTX w/ DX10 support because thats what Im running right now, but will some of the DX10 features be ported in to the TSE SDK at some point in the future?

I'll reword it to be not so negative and to better reflect my intended message,
I wouldn't count on seeing a DX10 port or an OpenGL port for a long while unless either are done in the community or independent of it.
'Long' is in the assumption that constructor, Torque X, and TGEA v1 take priority over DX10 or OpenGL.
Note the use of "I wouldn't count on seeing" does not equal a declaration of "You won't see."
EDIT: Removed a few absolutely pointless paragraphs that would have probably not been read anyways.

I knew the minute I hit the 'submit post' button that either s. zepp or p. wilson would strike. Predictable; and as Voltaire says, predictability is lame.I'll reword it to be not so negative and to better reflect my intended message,

I know as soon as I let go of my coffee cup it will crash to the floor--is that lame too?
When you post confusing and conflicting information in a public forum about something you know nothing about, it's our job to do what we can within the constraints placed upon us to correct your statements so the rest of the readers aren't mislead.

That must mean that you know nothing about it either seeing how it hasn't even begun to be discussed. That also puts some manner of weight behind my assumption seeing how DX10 hardware is now available, there are already OpenGL extensions for geometry shader, and there are example applications of geometry shader in action on WinXP using OpenGL or Vista using DX10. Yet you haven't begun to discuss OpenGL or DX10? I'm going to assume that this is incorrect and that it really has been discussed just that you may not be aware of it or said such because there is yet to be a final decree.
Assumptions are assumptions, they are not statements of fact and therefore there is no need for you to correct my assumptions. I'm sorry if I missed some remote location (or not so remote location) where a section of text can be found which decrees that assumptions which are not positive are prohibitive.
In short, my rewording was entirely in vain as you still continued to take my assumptions to be facts when they are not facts. Must I include text saying "may contain assumptions" at the head of my posts?
By the way, breaking your coffee cup is lame and coffee stains on carpet the predictable result of dropping coffee onto carpet is also lame. Your elbow will be twice as lame from scrubbing the carpet if you drop too many cups of coffee. My point; coffee cup analogy = lame. Using lame more times than ever before in my life is also lame, so I'm going to end it here.
EDIT: Fixed improper use of a colon

There should be a built-in thesaurus.

Using the word Lame so many times is Lame...There should be a built-in thesaurus.

in the public forums...of course we've discussed it internally.

I originally had a colon there. If my memory isn't too heavily tainted then the main use of the colon is as a precursor to a list of items, whereas the semicolon functions much like a comma in that it joins seperate clauses and enables otherwise incorrect sentences to be correct.
Feel free to correct me if I am incorrect, I'll learn something from it.
@Mincetro
As I said previously...
@s. zepp
Fair enough, I'll shut up now.

groovy stuff.
because noone I know has any plans of installing vista.
infact it is kind of a running joke, who will be the first to run it, as thier main.
its a pretty good idea.
as for this engine supporting DX10.
I would imagine tse should not have too much trouble.
good luck with tge tho :)
Ogre will support DX10 first would be my estimate.
