How many computers does the Indie license give me?

Hi everyone,

I am wishing to purchase the Torque Game Engine SDK "Indie" License. How many computers may I install the softare onto? I have a desktop and a laptop I would like to use for development. I attempted to look this up on the site and the forum but I did not see the answer.

Thanks for your help!

The license is per user not per machine

i have my TGE/TGB on my lap on my desk at work and on my desk at home :)

If you have 100 computers, you can install it. But no one else can have source-level access to the engine.

"source-level"? So can multiple programmers work on scripts?

Can anyone from GG shed official light on this?

The EULA is really not that complicated a document, go ahead and read it.

    But as i understand it,
yes, an unlimited number of people can work on scripts,
but each person who has access to the engine source (C++) must have their own indie license.

    Yup. Orion is correct.

    From the TGE EULA:

Quote:The TGE Indie Game License fee for the Engine is $100 per each programmer using or accessing the source code to the Game(s).

If a team member is doing scripting only (modding the engine with NO access to the source code) they do not need a license. This is the same as downloading our free FPS demo and modding it without purchasing the source.

    Hello people,
When I installed the game engine onto this new computer the engine will open but quits whenever I open the world editor. Anyone got a possible fix for this one?

Tiznyler, this is not a permission problem. I would suggest posting your problem in the Mac forums of this site.

Quote:I have a feeling this is due to permissions because the first computer I installed TGE onto was not owned by me.

Torque Game Engine has no built-in validation like that.
