MahJong Tradition

My first TGB game is nearing completion; so I thought that I'd share it with you good folks.

MahJong Tradition is a real MahJong game (Hong Kong variant); not a tile-matching game.
To download the demo, see screenshots from the game, and a complete description, please Click Here.
MahJong Tradition is a Mac Universal Binary [Sorry, no Windows or Linux versions. Also, the engine has been modified.]
The fully-functional demo can be played 19 times before it becomes non-functional. It is being sold for $20.
The game offers four different modes of single-player game-play, four unique GUIs, custom cursors, a sprinkling of particle effects, & a modest collection of original sound effects. Hopefully, it will provide a nice diversion for the casual gamer.
I would welcome any comments you might like to make about the game. While compliments are always nice; constructive criticism is usually more beneficial. More than anything else, I hope that you enjoy playing it.

However, it's not rocket science to get it working. Download MahJong Tradition, and extract it. You will have two folders created in the folder that you extracted to. Head to: MahJong Tradition.app\Contents\Resources and put in the TGB exe and dll files (glu2d3d.dll, OpenAL32.dll, opengl2d3d.dll, TGB.exe, unicows.dll). I used the 1.1.2 files.
The double click TGB.exe and away you go :) One Mac game running on Windows.

Philip's idea won't work (at least, right away); because I modified the TGB source. It's a simple modification; though. All I added was: Array Resource. I couldn't conceive of doing this project without a true key/value array object to work with.

Edit - Oh yeah, just checked the console.log and it's filled with loads of errors, so it looks like it won't actually run properly using my method.

I must admit I didn't spend long in the game as I don't really like MahJong, but the game seemed to work.Edit - Oh yeah, just checked the console.log and it's filled with loads of errors, so it looks like it won't actually run properly using my method.

Kudos on what looks to be a great product!

It looks fantastic, but bummer there's no Windows version! I have long wanted to learn to play Mahjong, not just match the tiles from random piles. Kudos on what looks to be a great product!

Philip, I chose MahJong because there are no true MahJong games out for the Mac platform. Every time a new tile-matching game comes out, people complain about there not being a real MahJong game to buy; so I thought that it was something that I could successfully market. Only time will tell if the ten months I spent creating it will pay off!
Thanks, Don. I spent a lot of time working on the graphics (almost as much time as doing the AI for the computerized players). The screenshots on my website don't do the project justice; since they can't show the animations, particle effects and the tiles flying all over the place! TGB is a great engine to work with!

I wasn't criticising your choice of game, and I hope that it takes off for you :) My wife however, loves MJ games and plays them for ages. Unfortunately we're a Windows only household though.

Think how happy your wife would be playing MahJong Tradition on her brand new iMac!
