The Game Spoof

Imagine a game that has every concievable style of character from movies and games in one game. Lightsabers versus fireballs, vehicles vs catapults, soccer players vs artillery. The main idea is to create a game that is one huge spoof. Allow content to be added and things defined according to a simple object system. Servers can be started much like Quake 3 Arena and people can log in a mess around. No real point other than spoofing other stuff. This could be a really good way to showcase Torque in general if this kind of thing is free to play around with.
Okay, I am going to let sanity back in and quit.

The fun part is who is going to sue you? For instance the lightsaber is the focus of the SW series. Go and search for lightsaber on the internet. Now how many movie spoofs are there? You spoof enough people and DO NOT use their content you can do anything practically.

Very fast, players will discover what weapon is best and all will use that. Then you patch the game to nerf that weapon. Pisses off a lot of your players. Next weapon will be discovered as "the one". Etc. etc.

How would you balance such a game?Very fast, players will discover what weapon is best and all will use that. Then you patch the game to nerf that weapon. Pisses off a lot of your players. Next weapon will be discovered as "the one". Etc. etc.

Yeah, balance in the game was the first thought I had plus it would look like a train wreck visually. I dunno. Only way to find out is to develop the idea, work up concepts and then build a prototype. If at each step of the way you're still charged by it, you might have a winner on your hands ")Good Luck!

This is an idea that has been bouncing in my head as more of a show case tool than a game. I am not really planning on making this at this point in time. I mean if you made a Neo type character is there really any way to compete against that? But, it would be fun to make none the less.
