TLK and Day Night system problem with DTS

by Cameron Jensen · in · 09/28/2006 (9:41 am) · 5 replies

After I merged TLK, DRL2.0, and the CG Shader effects for my waterblocks and managed to get it all working with the day/night cycle I found another prob.

when its night time all im seeing is super-dark terrain, somewhat glowing water but the water is affect by the color of the terrain so it does appear a little darker so the water isnt my main problem, and then the WORST and most serious problem would be that all my .DTS objects like the default stronghold houses, the docks, and the towers, even the character etc. are all still lit like its daytime, with TLK isn't it possible to have them actively change lighting with the terrain and such now?

It's a huge problem I really need to fix, as it looks extremely weird otherwise.
Any help is appreciated.

Are you using this resource?

I haven't used any of the day/night resources, but how is the darkness set (does the resource use a gl call to the renderer or play with the sunlight values?). If I recall correctly (and there is no guarantee that I do), TGE has different renderers for interiors, objects, and terrains. The values that the resource you are using may be controlling the rendering of the terrain but not the interiors and objects.

The Day/night resource should change the lighting on all object, double check to make sure it's fully implemented.

The Day/Night system designed for TLK hasn't been released yet, so for now that resource is the best option.

I think the TLK day/night system went the way of Duke Nukem Forever. I've been waiting for that thing forever.

We just finished transitioning TLK to TGE 1.5 and TSE. It would have been weird bringing out a TLK based add-on right before a major platform change. :)

But don't worry we're keeping track of the things the community is excited about, and have plans for a lot of them.

Any new news about this? (IE: the TLK day/night system )?
