What's the verdict on DeleD?

Any opinions on the editor itself or the new exporter?

Haven't played with the exporter, but the interface for the modeler is clean and pretty intuitive.

I like it, I have been using it when exporter launch. It is easy and quick for me. Plus it convert map to dif no need to use outside convert of DeleD. The texture scaling is real good alot better than overs. Try out DeleD lite is free and exporter has demo, a real demo you can export with into Torque.

All made in Deled and exported using the torque exporter.
The exporter does have some problems with some objects, but a fix is in the works. (it doesn't like csg at all)

I'm a fan of DeleD; it has most of the features you need, and none of those you don't. The UI is very nice and clean, too. I even wrote a DirectX .X file exporter for it which suits my needs better than those of the included.

I would not call the Torque map exporter "mature" in any sense of the word. It works fine if you build your geometry out of boxes (and other concave shapes), and do not use any CSG or merging at all. It doesn't work for any "real" levels yet -- although there's been discussion with their developers on their forums, and it seems they have a handle on it. I'm eagerly awaiting the update -- if it fixes that problem, I'll give it two thumbs up!

There's a free trial of the editor itself with only a few features gimped; try it yourself: www.delgine.com/
