Is using BF 1942 art resources with Torque feasible?

I'm brand new to Torque and fairly new to 3D. I've done a couple of 2D games. With these 2D games, I tried to exactly clone existing games(Robotron and Bomberman). I have no art skills whatsoever, so I used emulators to run the original and screen captured the 2D to use in my game. (I don't distribute these games so I don't have any qualms about stealing the art).
What I'd like to do now is something similar with Battlefield 1942. What I'd like to do is to use the existing art and maps resources from BF 1942 and do a clone of Wake island with only foot soldiers. (i.e. no planes, tanks, jeeps, ships, etc).
How feasible would it be to convert the existing BF 1942 art, maps, etc for rendering in Torque? Forget game play for now. I'd like to just be able to load one of the maps and move around and look at stuff.
Am I thinking crazy here or is this feasible?
Thanks,
Mike

You can extract the .rfa files using RFAExtractor 1.1, then you should be able to find a model importer for Milkshape or 3dsmax to allow you to convert them to the Torque format. I'm not sure how feasable it is to recreate levels beyond using the BF1942 heightmap though.

neat, well there you go if it is so.
seeing how you can extract them from the archive and that tool is available.
it makes sense.

So there is likely a binary importer for thier content?neat, well there you go if it is so.

If you wanted to you could just take battlecraft1942 and get rid of all vehicle spawn points and tweak it a bit, otherwise try the RFA extractor Mincetro suggested

an idea of how it's done right.

It's crazy.. you where right the first one. I suggest you read the various plans and posts on Air Ace to getan idea of how it's done right.

depending on how they stored the format. you need to know this first.
if the format has any copy protection / encryption methods involved in the storage.
once you ascertain this information you can do a feasibility judgement.
which I am sure you will find it to be out of the scope of simple usability.
better off to find simple assets you can use on the net.
