Dynamic audio, MP3, etc

I was wondering if the V12 has any dynamic (triggered) audio in place (for music in particular). I know it already has instantiated audio (gun makes noise when you shoot it, etc..) and background music.

Also, I understand the music is MP3 based (am I wrong?), and if so, how is the $2.50 per copy of software with MP3 support licensing being handled?

The only sound support that will ship with the first version of the engine is DirectSound. The parts of the sound system that required licenses had to be removed.

Might I suggest bass.dll if you need it.

A friend of mine tried both bass and fmod, he concluded that fmod is not really as good as they say on their web site. He also said he had stability problems in some cases. Bass on the other hand gave him much less trouble. I've never used fmod myself, but I have used bass and for me it works well...
