Difference between licences

Hi everyone,

If you look at my profile, you can see that I'm a 3D artist. I'm looking foward to buy a game engine licence right now but the thing is that I'm french speaking and sometime, I don't understand everything in english. So my question is; What is the difference between the "TGE Indie Game License" and the "TGE Commercial License"?

I'm working on a VR project that is probably going to be market, so I guess I would have to use the commercial licence, but still, I want to make sure?

Thank you guys

Vincent -
your english seems pretty good,
maybe try giving the license another look ?

you probably want to look especially at uh section 3 - "restrictions", where it says:
Quote:
(b) Licensee may not use the Indie License if the annual revenue of the Company employing, partnering, or affiliated in any way with the Licensee is greater than $250,000 annually. Companies that grow to greater than $250,000 annually must upgrade to the Torque Commercial Product License for each seat of the Torque.

so basically, as i understand it,
unless you are licensing the software as part of a company making more than $250K USD, you can use the Indie license. you only need the commercial license if you're a fairly large operation.

Your English seems pretty good to me as well.

With the indie license, you have to make a game. You must have a commercial license to create VR walkthroughs, and other non-game applications.

Thanks alot.

No need to be sorry. Just keep us posted on the progress of the project. It's always fun to see non-game applications made with TGE.

Just to make sure everyone is aware, the indie license does require that the project be a game. VR applications and other non-game oriented projects do require a commercial license.

And for future reference, the TDN forums are not the best place to ask general Torque questions. :)

The Torque public forums are the best place for such questions.
