Maya problem

by Kai Norman · in Artist Corner · 09/14/2006 (10:29 am) · 4 replies

First. I know my way arround maya with modeling. I however have NEVER textured. I just didnt. So now i made a pile of rubble with rebar sticking out and when i was satisfied i exported it. But when i use the "-show" tool it wont show the texture. So then i search the forums and it says put the texture with the model. Is there a way i can combine the texture into one? Like make maya put it on a image like i always see with other models. I am really puzzled and will appreciate any bit of help or advice

Well first off we could use a little more info. You can't combine the texture and model into one. Did you do a UV layout? and if so you will need to do a snapshot that can be used for exporting. Also what version of Maya are you using? Maya's help file and docs are very complete I would suggest reading through them. I can help you but only after you give more info.

Are all your textures powers of two (e.g. 256x256, 64x64, 512x256) and just place the texture in the same file as your dts model.
