New idea?
the conflict zone.
Im not sure if this is a new idea
but here goes anyway.
My idea is to bring torque to the mainstream
by showing the possibilities of its design
Inspired on movies like "Black Hawk Down"
and "behind enemy lines", my idea is to create
a war game as realistic as posible.
The objective of the game just like
in the spirit of this movies will be to show
the cruelty and horror of being in the middle
of a war, with is moments of true heroism
,tragedy and courage.
It wont be a quake/tribes clone it will be more
of a simulation, nobody will win, you just
acomplish your objectives and come out alive
or you dont.
During the game you will be sent to
several missions (some of them will be
real suicide missions) attack opositor forces,
defend a post, rescue your fallen team mates
in a city under siege etc.
In addition you will also have the choice to
play a civilian in order to relive the moments
of anguish of trying to survive a cross fire
without any weapons/training or objective
but surviving.
Whenever you get killed (which will be treated
as realistically as possible)
you will go to spectator mode (for a while or
during the rest of the fray acording your settings)
and spectator mode will look and sound
like a TV broadcasting (like those you watch on cnn)
(reporter mode? hmm)
Additionaly one of the players could be choosen
"commander" the commander or intelligence forces
cant go to battle, but they can watch via satellite
or cameras the entire battle from an sky view
and command their forces to safety/death or victory.
Features of the conflict zone:
*Bots playing civilians, rebel forces,
enemies, etc. (there will always be
someone to fire you when less expected)
*Several vehicles like choppers,
humbees, ATCS and tanks.
*Several realistic weapons/tems and weapon/load
carrying system including missile launchers
,in place machine guns and night vision gogles.
*Several positions with diferent options each,
comm expert, medic, squad leader, demolition expert,
rank soldier, pilot, intelligence, snipper, etc.
*Missions based in real conflict zones
like: Somalia, Kosovo, Pakistan, Iran,etc.
*Possibility to join any army
in the fray.
*CB radio, voice comm with interference
effects (high spots=better comm,
ocluded metal/concrete areas=you are screwed)
*No infinite ammo, Realistic loading times
and actions.
*Realistic wound system.
(limbs can be lost, bleeding, visible
bandages when/if cured, etc)
*Modified and optimized particle engine.
for dust, blood, wall damage, etc.
So thats my idea, share your mind about it
and also please mention if someone is already
doing something like this.
