Is this available for mac? or how would one go about compiling it for maya 8 on the mac?

When you download the Torque source there's maya2dts folder and xcode project for the exporter so just compile that. However I've never had any success so I'd appreciate if someone could compile .bundle exporter for maya 8.0 for mac os x.

I just saw this thread so I don't know if someone else has already come to the rescue on Maya2DTS 8 for Mac. If not, we have a working version here...
http://research.gridlab.ohio.edu/downloads/dts_export_utility_for_maya_8.dmg
Please keep in mind that while we've been using it with no problems, it hasn't been stress tested. Thus, the usual, "we're not responsible if something goes wrong" disclaimer applies.
Also, most of our artists aren't techies so I packaged the required files up so OS X's installer will put them in /Users/Shared/Alias/maya/8.0/. If you prefer to manually place these things, just show package contents, etc.
Edit:
We've built the Mac version and have created an installer package with Maya2DTS (including supporting script and icon files) for the following versions of Maya...
6.0 (PPC)
7.0 (PPC)
8.0 (PPC)
8.5 (Universal)
You can download it here...

Take care,
Ben

I am new to this and am still learning Maya8.0. Can you please tell me where to place the 2dtsExporter in the maya directory? As I said I am new to this and if I can get Maya working with Torque I will be a happy man.
Thanks.
Jon.

The DTSUtil goes in a scripts directory, and the maya2dts goes in the plug-in directory.
load the plug-in and the call the dtsutil via the script area.
Kind Regards,
Sean

There are two parts that are used for exporting maya 2 dts - the DTSutil, and the Maya2DTS.mllThe DTSUtil goes in a scripts directory, and the maya2dts goes in the plug-in directory.
load the plug-in and the call the dtsutil via the script area.

I have just moved computers, and have gone to download the exporter package off your website but due to it getting revamped its no longer online. Any chance you can stick it online?
Thanks.

@Victor: the link above is for us oft-ignored Mac users, who sometimes can't get the binaries we need. Windows users can download from the original source, i.e.
