Assertion Failed when stripping(5)

Anybody have any idea what causes this? I had the DTS and DSQ working on Friday. Today I tweaked the vert assigments on the skinned model and this started happening when i tried to export.
Meh. I have had nothing but headaches so far figuring out how to set up and export my own rigs. The simpleBox that comes with the file pack worked easily. But my own rigs are trouble. Two weeks of messing with this stuff and only got one DTS and one DSQ to export and show up in showtool properly.
HELP!

So far I have had no trouble with DSQ exports. It seems if I can get the DST right the DSQ works as well.

It is frustrating that this model and rig worked fine until I changed the vert assignments.

What program are you using to model? I had a similair issue when trying to export using Milkshape's exporter. I simply had to "clean" (under tools) the model and the export would work. I dont know the tech behind it, but im assuming there are some loose tri's running around. Or at least the error seems to point to that.

I am working in Maya. I guess I will try to clean up the mesh and maybe re-attach the skin. Thanks for the tip.

Now I am going to back in and re-assign the verts. Lets see if it breaks. Wish me luck.

OK. I cleaned up my mesh, deleted the history and froze the transforms. I got the DTS to export and show up in Show Tool. So I went ahead and bound the skin and made sure everything was set up right in the hyperview. I exported again. The DTS worked fine. I created an animation node and exported my DSQ. Worked perfectly. Now I am going to back in and re-assign the verts. Lets see if it breaks. Wish me luck.

Can I ask you a question? Have you had any problems with the exporter not exporting the cam, eye and mount nodes?
I loaded in a stock character into TST and found if I looked at the model's properties these nodes are present.
Could you do me a favour and post your dtsscene.cfg file?
What you can try to do in the fute is just copy skin wieghts from your modified model to a new clean model.
Cheers mate.

My coder says he doesn't think the eye node showed up. Looking into why.
Torque Owner Mark Pilkington
I'm also trying to get characters into Torque, my dts shape exports fine - I've not tried exporting a dsq yet as I want to make sure all my mount points are correct but what I have found is my Mount, cam and eye nodes arn't being exported.
I posted a thread here but no-one has replied yet - maybe we can help each other out?
Here is my thread anyway maybe you can spot a few mistakes I've made.

I am using IK handles but I have removed them from the skeleton in that thread.
