I didnt mean to be rude, but making games shouldnt be just about making money, it should be something you love to do, not a quick easy way to get cash, which it isnt.-Ben

Ignore them. It's hip to make fun of the guy with the dreams who isn't jaded with defeat yet. Good luck. Welcome to the world of indie game development. My suggestion: get in on the XBox360 XNA Express. For one man or small teams, this is going to really help bring your dreams closer to reality. :) Don't worry, most of us are rooting for you to succeed.

I believe the initial 'bad' responses you recieved were due to your general request -- from what I gather, you have no game concept, no prototype, nothing at all yet. Your looking to start a team for a project that doesn't even exist yet -- you'll have better luck building a team around a concept or at least a half decent idea that can be built up with hard work.
As for the 'bad' responses, I believe they were totally inappropriate -- if you can't respond productively, don't even bother -- seriously.
@Anton, nice perspective (XNA comments aside)

:P Hey, someone has to pimp the XNA Express around here. It's looking out for the underdog. Wait... did I just call Micorsoft the underdog? :P

I only meant that I have a different thought on how XNA will affect indie's ... it seems an awesome thing, but I really don't know how much of a 'help' it will be for indie's to publish or get there games out there.
Though, I can't say I've honestly looked into it much, I've only really read what GG has promoted about it -- it looks great, don't get me wrong, I just don't know if the Indie world is going to benefit from it as much as everyone thinks they will -- we are still Indie's, even with XNA :)

@Keith The best way to attract team members is get a solid design document and prototype done.

@Ben, usually the team is required to build the prototype ;) especially if you need a scripter/coder ... artists are about the only thing a prototype can help get you ... in my opninion and experience

Start by saying what you can do as far as game devement goes. (programming, mapping, modeling, texturing etc.)
Do you have a game plan? (A little more fleshed out than just saying 'a Resident Evil clone'..)
If you're new to game development you should probably start with something a little easier. If you have some experience (doesn't have to be professional) you could always look at joining someone elses team that are doing something along the lines of what you are interested in.
If you want to lead a team people need to know you have what it takes since it won't just be your dreams that you hold in your hands.
