Wierd problem

Im using tgb on a mac and im getting to know the tile builder...though i cant create brushes of either a group of tiles or a tile with specific specifications.....the short cut key is alt left click and drag...and it doesnt work...iv tried this with shift and most combonation keys but it doesnt work

Anyone???
