Can you use bryce exports for TGE/TGEA?

For TGE: Yes you can!! Export Terrain into Heightmap image (jpg) then you can get TGE to create terrain based on your heightmap, use 256 x 256 resolution within TGE will give you a fairly decent terrain.
For TGEA/TSE: haven't tried this...

Thanks, anyway to do the shrubbery and textures as well? Any way to get TGE to do more than 256x256 as it's a bit lumpy.. Somthing more like lineage2 would be great.

TGE terrains are limited to 256x256, and probably won't be improved by GG since 'ginormous' Atlas terrain capability is one of the chief selling points of TGEA (TSE). A lot of time and effort has been put into making Atlas a seriously cool tool for indie devs.
As to your other question, Bryce rocks trees and other detail objects can't be exported to other apps as far as I know. Terrain exporting works like a charm though and supports a number of file formats.
Going back to your terrain question, if you really need more terrain variety in old-style TGE, you could add Bryce-generated terrain patches (as LODed DTS models) strategically placed around a standard TGE landscape. Collision, shadows and other issues might present serious challenges, but with a little creativity, you might be able to work around them.

Incidentally, that tutorial is in a group of tutes for PD Particles, which is now also available here at GG.

I've had Bryce 5 for a while and didn't use it for a long time, had been using Carrara and still that's my fav 3D for all things 3D but Bryce is definitely a good one for terrains too (Carrara has an equally impressive terrain modeler). Anyway, if you're looking at Bryce for the first time, here's a few tutes of my own including some about the terrain exporting aspects,www.thebest3d.com/pdp/tutorials/bryce101

I know bryce like the back of my hand and have a very large collection of models and landscape already in some br5 files but didn't know what the best way of moving stuff to TGE/TSE, after playing around with imports it looks like I would be better off using the atlas system then messing with it.Thanks for the input!

There's also a boxed version available for $25 at www.thebest3d.com/bryce courtesy of Purplus - just in case you prefer to have a boxed version from which you can upgrade to B6
