How to make a window in an interior .map?

I've been pulling my hair out for the last 3 days trying to make a transparent window in one of my interiors. I'm using a version of the GtkRadiant editor for the Mac. I tried to get it setup for use with Torque but never managed to get it to work properly. (Can anyone offer some insight to setting this stuff up?) The documentation on the site is sparse to say the least and I have not been very capable to do much else. My interior looks fine in my mission, except that my transparent png is rendered opaque.
I did attempt to patch interiorRender.cc with the details found elsewhere for an interior transparency fix. It did not auto patch (patch < interior.patch failed 15 of 15 blocks) so I modified by hand. I'll look at it again tonight to see if I have it setup right but it compiles without fail, this leads me to believe my map file is not setup properly.
So, if I could get a little assistance - even a small sample .map file I can run through map2dif_plus that uses a transparent glass.png would be wonderful and very much appreciated.
