Shadow flicker fix for laptops with ATI Radeon cards

I had posted a thread about this some time ago, but never found a solution that addressed all the issues I was having. The link below is a zip file that has the atioglxx.dll file version 4145. This file is called atioglxx4145.dll in the zip, so you should backup your current atioglxx.dll, then unzip and rename this one in your ./windows/system32 folder.

I'm using a Dell Inspiron8200 with an ATI9000 mobility radeon. I was having shadow flicker issues in TGE, numerous Modo 202 crashes, and GUI display anomolies in Blender 2.3x. This .dll has fixed all the above issues for me, so I thought I would share.

Please be carful when making changes to your system files! Backup your original files!

I hope this helps some Mobility Radeon users fix the annoying shadow flicker issue.

Tried this and sure the flicker went away, but so did all of my CG graphics.

Did you rename the dll file in the zip from atioglxx4145.dll to atioglxx.dll?

Yes, that part was very simple. The problem lies in the fact when you open the game and if you have ever installed any of the CG based upgrades, they don't work any more.

Ahh, I see. I haven't tried any of the new CG resources out there yet, which would explain why I didn't notice any ill effects.
