Ragdoll working from other 3d packages?

Has anyone managed to export a character from a 3d package other than Max, that ends up working with Chris Calef's ragdoll pack?

I'm pretty sure at the end of the day it's a naming convention thing, but it could well be hard wired to the biped structure, and be impossible to do with any other package that Max. I just don't believe the DTS format is like that. I think Max/Maya/LW/Milkshape et al confirm to the DTS/DSQ format and not to the Max format.

Anyone know what the specifics are?
