Thunder Island is a vehicle combat arcade game with integrated stunts and online, team-based action. Product-sponsored teams will wage war across Thunder Island battling their opponents in classic game modes like CTF and King of the Hill. Along the way team members can build points by performing death-defying stunts. These points are used to purchase chassis upgrades and repair vehicle damage.
Inmotion Simulation is building a TSE Phase One tech demo for Thunder Island and has completed a base set of content. But Phase Two requires multiple versions of that base. To kick off the next round of content Inmotion Simulation is looking for help from
artists in the Garage Games community. Thunder Island is scheduled for release in 2007 but the tech demo needs to be completed by December of this year.
This is a paid position so, please, only serious applicants.Artists interested in this project must meet the following requirements:
-An online portfolio demonstrating strong drafting/drawing skills and a creative sense of style applied to mechanical devises (We're not interested in player-character models, only vehicles and near-future structures).
-Be able to generate your own designs is a plus but otherwise you must be able to build models based on design sheets supplied to you.
-This project utilizes 3DS Max for DTS models and Quark for DIFs. Experience in both is a plus but otherwise a preference for Quark users will greatly determine the applicant we choose. In either case applicants must have a firm grounding with these programs. If you're a Quark-user you need to have enough competence to build jump-ramps, half-pipes, quarter-pipes, road-sections, bridges, etc.
-Building great models is only half the battle. Your texture work needs to be top notch and realistic. Initially, the successful applicant will build secondary DIF structures like those described above but eventually DTS vehicles will be offered where a layer of damage effects is integrated into the models.
-Sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
If you're interested in this position please contact the art lead N.R. Bharathae at nrb@exilegraphics.net. Please use 'Art Position' in the title bar. Good Luck!

Can you imagine a venue where brand-loyality gets to shoot it out?

Thanks for posting , guys. Originally the COKE and PEPSI skins were just done to demonstrate a big name sponsored like, sort of like Nascar. I don't think any of us really thought we could pull off that kind of sponsorship. But recently a marketing company with ties to Coke contacted Mark Barry, owner of Inmotion Simulation, and is interested in the game. Soooo, if Coke gets involved with Thunder Island then you know it bahooves Pepsi to do the same. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.Can you imagine a venue where brand-loyality gets to shoot it out?
