PAID: Voice-Over Work

by Andrew Taylor · in Jobs · 08/01/2006 (7:04 am) · 5 replies

I am looking for a pleasing voice to record several short voice-overs for a puzzle game I am creating. These voice overs will be very short in length, for example they might say "Bonus Round" or "Level Up". The game is a puzzle game with a sci-fi/techno feel targeted at middle age women.

If you are interested, please send me an email with an MP3 or WAV sample of your voice, as well as your rates. The phrases I know will be used are:

Bonus Round
Level Up
Begin
Prepare Yourself
Game Over

In addition to pay, your name will be listed in the game credits.

This might be overkill for your project but have a look at www.interactivevoices.com/, you can find incredibly talented people there that have high quality equipment and most of them only charge around 25$ per recorded minute.

Thanks Torbjorn,

I appreciate any good links I can get. I wanted to look here first to give other indie developers a chance to earn some cash, but if I don't get anyone here in the next day or two, I will certainly see if I can find anyone there.

Andrew, Mike of SingleFlameStudio has done some of all the work you need. His main work is in 3D and indie CD producing, but he's done some game work (including recording with professional voice actors and custom UI), and may be an all-around fit for you. I don't know if he requires some money up-front, or not, or what his rates are.

Thanks Eric,

I will take a look at them as well. Since I am a company, pay isn't a problem, as long as it isn't exorbinant! :)

I took a look at Interactive Voices and talked to their account rep there. I think they might be good for larger projects, but for small projects, they are a bit expensive with a minimum charge of $100.00.

Perhaps I can come up with a larger variety of phrases and then create a voice over pack or something. :)
