Hi!
I don't know anything about programming or scripting and, i don't know where to start or what to learn.
The thing is that i wanna be able to use Torque game engine, but i don't have any idea of how you use it.
Could someone please discripe to how you start, and where to learn the basics, and then where to go from there?
thx

TGB is torque game builder. Its for making 2D games, and a lot of the skills learnt with that can be passed onto TGE. 3D game programing all in one is a good book, but a few versions old. There is an advanced version of the book as well to move onto. Then there is the recently released The Game Programmer's Guide to Torque which can be purchased here on GG. That uses the most recent version of TGE, but I do not have that so I can't speak personaly on it but a lot of people seemed very happy with it.

I have both the 3D Game Programming All in One, and The Game Programmer's Guide to Torque... for a complete noob i would suggest the second one (GPGT), but i do also suggest getting 3D game programming and the 3D advanced game programming books as well, you can never have too many books and knowledge :)

I would definitely purchase 3D Game Programing All-In-One. It's an awesome book.

Ed Maurina's book is great. I'd really recommend getting it. Probably one of the best starting points though is integrating resources. Most are very easy to integrate and you will eventually become familiar with the engine.

I have been a programmer as long as I could rreach the keyboard, but aside from that I was in the exact same position you are in six months ago, I purchased Torque and was left with the now what feeling, I opened it in VS 2003 and just looked at the right pane with my jaw wide open, think "HOLY SHI*".
The best resource for learning torque ... hmm ... the books are great, however I think you found the best resource ... US ... I spent 3 months just reading the forums (I dont think I posted in that time) trying the stuff they were talking about, my confidence grew. Now I am proud to be a member of this community (much to my wifes dismay)
