TSE set up help

I've compiled the TSE with VC2005 and in the example folder I get TSE_Debug.exe, which is a demo.
When my friend loaded it about six months ago it showed land and water, like the TGE does. Is there a way to make it load like the TGE, where it is in FPS mode or shows the terrain, water, and sky.
