IRC Chat

Hello,

Recently the server that the GarageGames irc room is hosted on (MGO.Networks) has joined an irc network.
This means there are now 3 servers from which you can reach the room.

www.maxgaming.net:6667
irc.freemech.net:6667
irc.trilynx.net:6667

Channel is still #garagegames

The chat link will still only use the maxgaming server, but God forbid it goes down for whatever reason, there are now 2 other servers that can be used. For those who have never been there, there are generally, a dozen regular coders there willing to help out. Its been a while since the last visit but Rick tends to visit also.
Spock (Tim Newell) helps moderate it, and is also a good source of help from what I've seen.

Wish I could get there (during the day is the only realistic time), but until I can connect via port 80 (yeah, right - THAT'LL happen) IRC is right out... such is life at a 'security-oriented' company.

That could be arranged LoL

LabRat: Do you mean I can use a repeater like HTTPTunnel (that thing drives me nuts) or that it would be little trouble for the IRC server to listen on that port as well?

There were a few proxies that I've played with that might work pretty decent. (ie.. transparent to mIRC and such.

The only other option would be something like CGI-Irc

Since the MaxGaming server is down, I feel that it is necessary to "bump" this thread up so that people can be reminded where the other IRC servers are if they wish to connect.

I apoligize if my "bumping" of this thread upsets anyone.

Nevermind on that first part...I was wrong.

MGO has a backup server located at www.mgonetwork.com:6667

MGO has left the other network because of "undesirable" behavior from some of the operators there.

If you connect to irc.maxgaming.net or irc2.maxgaming.net you will be taken to the lowest ping server in the current IRC network MGO is hosting.
