Blender 2.40 problems

How do you insert a background image onto blender version 2.40. Most tutorials say click view and then back ground image but there is only 1 view button and that is at the top. Does anyone know the answer to my solution?

Hi,

you can only insert 1 background picture in blender. ..
This is how I would do it....
Goto front view (num1) , click on -> -> then load your background image...

For the Image, it's better to have front and side picture as well. I'm not sure if you can actually put separate images for different viewport. I hope this helps.

Probably best to ask Blender questions in the Blender forum
www.garagegames.com/mg/forums/result.forum.php?qf=134

Here are four screenshots showing the steps
