Head What?

by Sam Guffey · in General Discussion · 04/18/2002 (7:36 am) · 10 replies

I have version 1.1.1, how do I go about updating it to the latest head? Ive typed in Head in the checkout module but it exits with code 1. I may be a dumb ass but it just doesnt seem like theres enough docs on getting updated.

Plus I didnt get the racing mod so I cant see how the wheel datablocks work since they seperated them.

In "update settings/sticky options/retrieve tag..." type
HEAD
and to be sure check the box "If no matching...".
Don't forget to turn on TCP/IP compression and also check "Create missing directories..." in the first tab.
That should do the trick...
And of course, you have to be logged in... ;-)

Thank you so much..

** Did anyone get major errors in both resManager.cc && .h?

I got about 1500 errors from those files. I never touched the originals.

Are you checking out directly to your working directory and compile from there?
Is so, you should do "Build/Clean" and "Build/Rebuild All" (or "Build/Build torqueDemo(_DEBUG).exe" ...
I just downloaded the HEAD yesterday and it compiled o.k.

I must have had some files that where still read only, I set them right and re DLed the head but I stil get one error in resmanager.cc 'createResource' function.

i dont think that's needed on head.. tho i think this guy is updating his own game which uses the dts viewer and he didnt add that code?
Just thinking.. cause head version doesnt need that
also... there's no need to type HEAD in the tag... you just leave all the fields blank and it gets the latest version of each file.. (which is called HEAD)
I *think* the HEAD tag doesnt even exist... since its not a version.. its just the latest updated... tag 1.1.1 for example is a set version of each file.. not like HEAD which is latest version of every file...
