In need of dedicated and talented people...

I'm looking to form a small team to get things moving on DUI. For now I'm in need mostly of 2 people, a solid programmer who isn't afraid to be creative with their code writing, and a talented 2d artist. I can hold my own with level design and modeling for now, but will eventually want someone to take the lead on the modeling to let me focus on the design.
To me it seems like most games in development with torque fall into the same 3 or 4 genres, that is not what I'm setting out to do, so if you have your heart set on a RTS, RPG, FPS... ect, then this probably isn't the project for you. But if you want to work with something original, fun, and humorous then take a look at the DUI project site.. There is some basic information, and a few test screenshots as well as a plot summary up there. I'm looking for dedicated people that will stay on through the whole project, and of course you will be paid when money starts coming in. I've gotten interest from a couple personal investors, but only want to tap into that if needed. So if you're serious about making a fun game, then I hope to hear from you.

Sounds like a little contest that engineers do called "drink a town dry", where all the engineering students from a university go to a local small town and they don't leave until there isn't a drop of liquor left in any of the bars or taverns :)Logan

As for the typo, all I can say is oops... Spell checker didn't catch it and I've read through it so many time is looked right to me, thanks for pointing it out.
But don't get the impression that I'm looking to do nothing on this, everything done so far has all been done by myself. I'll be keeping the project organized, as well as handling all the art direction, building the interiors, putting the city together and probably a bulk of the modeling. I just can't do everything myself. I'm an ok programmer but lack the skill to do what I want, and I'm not the greatest texture artist but could hold my own if needed. The bottom line is there just isn't as many hours in the day as I need to get everything done myself, so I will need help. I have no intention of just passing my ideas on to a team and saying "Make me the best game ever" I've already logged countless hours into this and have no plans on stopping. Worst case is I get no help and it takes me two years to complete, and I could live with that also.

1. The progress you have made so far.
2. The fact that you can model and program, and create the interiors.
3. Have more than one screenshot. :)
Thanks for looking at my post in a positive way. :)
Good luck! :)

Ahh, there you go. See, NOW I would be willing to look into joining the team. You need to mention:1. The progress you have made so far.
2. The fact that you can model and program, and create the interiors.
3. Have more than one screenshot. :)
Thanks for looking at my post in a positive way. :)

Since your main character is running around trying to drink alochol, why not have a "toxicity" level? Once it gets too high you die, but you can lower it as time goes on or if that won't work... kidney transplant!
Have bonus levels where you try to drug people, then steal their kidney and get it installed on the spot!
Heh okay, that's enough crazy-drunk game ideas for now.

I just came up with the best idea for this game!Since your main character is running around trying to drink alochol, why not have a "toxicity" level? Once it gets too high you die, but you can lower it as time goes on or if that won't work... kidney transplant!

Also don't forget that when you're fully drunk, all the female pedestrians should be the 'hot' female models due to beer goggle effect.

LOL... There is going to be a lot of little things that are there for no other purpose but to be amusing, for example, there will be some way of taking a leak, and if you forget to do so for a long time, the animation will change to one where he's walking funny. It won't mess with the gameplay at all but it should get some laughs.

Plus, some of your friends were "assonated".
Hmmm....
I dont know how many talented individuals that will attract. :/ You may want to proof-read (assonated is a word, but not the one you meant to use). Also, you do not seem to have a job. There are positions for Lead Modeler, Lead Programmer, and Lead Artist. So why would anyone join your team when all you really have, essentially, is a decent idea? (I think it is a pretty good idea btw)
I dont mean to be overly critical, just letting you know how to perhaps go about recruiting people more efficiently.
Oh, and dont read my post for spelling/grammatical errors. I am not the one looking for talented individuals. I already found mine. ;)
