Vote for your 3d package

Does anyone know the percentage of Max, Lightwave, Blender, C4D, Maya, Milkshape etc users out there who also own / use Torque? It would be usefully to know when making content packs in the future.

DTS: 3DS Max 5.1, registered and paid in blood
DIF: 3DS Max 5.1 with GLB3 and/or 3D World Studio 5.48

QuArK is the spawn of Satan. Hisssss!

I'm using Animation:Master with the Obsidian Games exporter. Works modestly well, except for my amazing lack of skill which practice should fix in a few months. The DTS exporter is still in BETA but works for me (although I'm not doing anything too complex).

Probably the only A:M user in the Torque community.. lol!

I use QuArk but I'm praying for Constructor to be released before I rip my head off, or commit ritual suicide with a sharp CD.

3ds Max 8, with GLB3

Gotta get the Max numbers up in here! We're taking a beating!

Milkshape
Fragmo

And Lightwave if I ever learn to use it.

Oh, and on the DIF side of the world: Quark and 3D World Studio

GameSpace. Would like to upgrade to Lightwave or XSI at some point. Max would be nice, but the price is so far out there that I'll probably never use it as an indie. (@David Hecker: You're taking a beating because most of us can't afford it...)

For DIFs: Hammer & QuArK... Evaluating gtkRadiant to see if it's really worth using. (It was fantastic for Q3, but for Torque, not sure yet.) Mostly just waiting for Constructor. =)

@ Kevin

Too true! But, if all you need are the modelling tools, you should look at Autodesk Viz. No Character Studio though, but price is a bit better than Max.

@Okashira - are there DTS exporters for all these packages?

Blender has one, yes. Though I have never used it.

@Ramen - yes it's amazing - the majority are LW users. Though I think there must be more Max user because all the tutes, docs and resources are geared toward using Max.

Lightwave just has such an attractive price tag and a plethora of features. Can't go wrong with Lightwave!

Lightwave used to be extremely expensive. it used to be a couple thousand dollars, but they went and reduced the price significantly over the years. Looks like it's working out for them.

LIghtwave for rigging, animation, etc.
Luxology Modo for modeling and texturing.
I have tried and use others but these two really fit in with how I think and work.

@Korpos
Windows XP Professional on my Windows desktop, XP Tablet Edition on my Tablet PC, OSX 10.4.7 on my Dual G5, 10.3.9 on my Mini. I cannibalized my linux partitions a while back and need to get back in and play when I have time.

Hahaha.

Lightwave also has the best Exporter Bar none as far as ease of use, and lack of confusion, and you dont have to create your own "Config file", Its all check or unchek. It realy is slick.
