Adding attributes to worldspawn in 3DWS

by John Doppler Schiff · in Artist Corner · 06/23/2006 (11:37 pm) · 7 replies

Hi guys,

Does anyone know how to add or edit attributes on the worldspawn entity in the MAP files 3DWS generates?

Specifically, I want to adjust light_geometry_scale. I'd hate to have to edit every single map file before converting them to DIFs. =P

Thanks for any help you can offer!

I'm assuming that you've asked this on the 3DWS for Torque forum at Leadwerks, but AFAIK, you have to edit them for the particulars. I don't remember seeing a property area for the particulars of this entity (though I can't say that I've looked).

There was a plugin that you could use with 3DWS that let you edit this, but as far as I know this plug-in got broken a few versions back. I think the source code for the plug-in was available for it though, so maybe someone could fix it up? Check over on the leadwerks forums - back 4-6 months or so.

Thanks for the leads, guys! I'll follow up on 'em right now.

Well, this is problematic. Doesn't look like there's any support for it within 3DWS, and there's nothing but crickets chirping in the Leadwerks forums.

What a pain in the butt! I love the 3DWS interface, but more and more, it seems like Torque support was added as a distant afterthought. My desperate desire for Constructor has just escalated another notch...

Why not? I've already paid my dues... =)

Well, folks, I got tired of bitching and whining, and decided to do something more constructive. Pending approval, WorldStuffer 1.0 will be available; it's a utility that automatically inserts selected attributes into your worldspawn entity.

Stay tuned...
