Sources included

I was wondering what parts of the applications provided when you purchase a license are included. I do not use Windows for my primary development platform, I use IRIX. I'm sure they all work well in Windows and would need some changes to work under IRIX.

Is source going to be provided for everything like the GUI Engine, Mission Editor, Terrain Engine, etc.?

Thanks in advance.

From what they're indicating, source to everything is provided. Since the engine runs on Linux and Windows there is already a modicum of clean and portable code - it shouldn't be too tough getting it up and running on IRIX.

Why do you develop on IRIX though? Academic purposes? Government Black-Ops applications? :-)

My SGI box has nice hardware, great monitor, etc. My PC does too, but I'm more efficient in the IRIX environment. It's just a personal preference, I guess.

I save more time developing on IRIX and then porting a little code over to get it working under Windows. It also cuts down on the headaches caused by Windows ;-).

You do get source to everything, including all the tools. Most of the editors are built into the game, and the rest of the tools are command line.

I recently purchased three SGI O2 machines. They were used by the TV station I work at for Weather reporting. I'd like to use them for Torque development, does anyone have any advice for a newbie? I'm a complete novice to the IRIX 6.5 OS, so any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
