Corrup Files/Projects + Saving

by Toby W. Allen · in Torque Game Builder · 06/22/2006 (4:33 am) · 3 replies

Hi,

1. Corrupt Projects
I've been trying out TGB and I've been having some serious file saving/corruption issues.

When I first loaded up TGB, I looked at a few demos, and once I looked at the Chercher demo I got locked into this project and level, I couldn't get out of it. I started a new project and level, and each time I started Torque it went back there.

I deleted the .dso, nothing. I checked the main.cs and nothing unsual. I got out of it by setting my default project as my new project.

2. Saving Corruption
I cannot properly save any of the information that I have set. Following the Shooter demo, I'm changing the values of the hSpeed and vSpeed, save it (either the button, save, or save-as) and none work properly.

If I modify the worldLimits, then the dynamic fields don't save, or I change the size of the plane, and the worldLimits don't save.

Really getting annoying.

Thanks,
Toby.

This seems to be the same problem: http://www.garagegames.com/mg/forums/result.thread.php?qt=45928

I have no idea what the root cause of this is, but it seems like it's happening to just 3 or 4 people. Strange. In any case, the fixes I posted in that thread seem to have worked. If you can give any more information about your configuration so I can try to track this down or reproduce it, that would be very helpful.

Adam,
Thanks for that - I don't have a full license, so I'm just testing this, and while I can see that it's a great product, this saving issue needs to be resolved before I can buy/recommend it to anyone.

Mediation might help here ;)

@Toby
Hopefully if you can give him some specs this could get fixed, or at least get a common cause. Ive looked at the thread (I own tgb) really quickly and it looks like just some script modding.

@Adam
He's not an owner else he would have found an option. Dont tease him with a link he cannot view. I leave it up to an employee to help/post any info from private forum threads that could help this non-owner out.

Good luck,
John
