Making foliage not square

I have added squares with the grass texture on them, but i have no idea how to make them like blades or patches. i know a bit about transparency maps in a program called "poser" but this gots me stumped. any input or a guide pdf would be awesome. there may be several on this site, but i suck at forum surfing (i can't even find the free stuff page again). i haven't found an effective way to search on this site yet.

make flat poly plane map you transparent texture to the plane then clone/copy and rotate
the polys to look like the pics .....make sure you export as two sided you can make trees plants what ever like this

Making small grass clumps is easy start off with the texture if your using photoshop go here and get some free grass brush's www.digitalmediadesigner.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=31348make flat poly plane map you transparent texture to the plane then clone/copy and rotate

Poser PNG
1. Place prop or figure in scene then adjust lights and model to desire look.
2. Click Render/Render Settings.
3. Under Quality move the black arrow to final setting.
4. Click drop down arrow for Render Over then select black.
5. Click Movie Settings Tab.
6. Click drop down arrow for Format then select Image Files.
7. Click drop down arrow for Renderer then slect FireFly.
8. Change 30 to 1 in Time Span (this so you only render one frame).
9. Uncheck Constain aspect ratio under Resolution.
10. Set width and height (256 x256 will give you good details). Note power of 2.
11. Click Make Movie button.
12. Save As window popup.
13. Enter File Name (test.png) then select Save as type.
14. Select png if you want alpha channel or Transparency.
15. Navigate to folder under Save in.
15. Click Save button.
16. Sit back and watch you image render.
17. when done you will have png with alpha channel you can place on plane for Torque or
use the image in TGb.

Here way you doing in Poser. If you like I can do a simple model to show how to do it. You can also use the image png with fxFoliageReplicator in Torque. What software you using? Milkshape or What? I might have tutorial for you.Poser PNG
