Develop me a 3 level racing game

by M. Ashraful Anam · in Jobs · 06/18/2006 (1:01 pm) · 21 replies

I need someone to develop me a simple 3 level racing game. The game will have three levels. The levels are farmland, urban and highway. The game must have split screen support so that 2 gamers are able to play simultaneously. UI will show the view from cockpit or external view with mini map and speed shown on corners. The object of the game is to defeat the opponent as well as collect the 10 coins distributed throughout the race path. Use can also play alone (single player) and collect the coins. At the end of each level some questions will be asked (like a menu) and if answered correctly the user can play the next level. Need good terrain and car graphics. The terrains size is mid level.

Provide complete proposal to russell_anam_at_hotmail.com mentioning timeframe. Need it within a month. Many developers already have scripts/games ready like this.

Yes and I need someone to create a first person adventure game for me. the game will have a dozen different planets, futuristic weapons, good story, realistic physics, and good graphics. the object of the game is to travel to different planets and fight bad guys.

send your prototype to yeah_right@getReal.com. i need this within the next few hours.

What's wrong with this? He's obviously going to pay for it.

A quality game in a month time... that's going to be expensive though :)

Well I hope it's not going to be expensive cause it's definitely not going to be a NFSMW competetor. It will be used internally for a promotion. I saw one racer demo (http://server.conitec.net/down/cardemo.zip) created in gamestudio. I am ok with that kind of guality (the car is not very good though).

James "Nycto" Frasca and Sean H., you two lamers are invited to bid as well (if you are up to it at all.....).

If you give more details about yourself, your company, your position, your budget and payment method (full escrow agreement method at rentacoder is preferred) then you may receive a proposal.

Well I guess I may as well post this in rentacoder than rather than wasting time here

Don't take it personal. The problem is that the request came across too harsh. I agree with Gokan that if you share more info about yourself and your company, you will get a much better response, even if that response is "sorry I can't help you". If the title had read something like "Studio seeking developer for a racing game" and some info about your company, yourself and even a link to your business was available, people would take the time to read and reply.

It's obvious you are pressed for time to get this game but don't expect people to jump through hoops in a moments notice, specially if you just became a member a day before the post and we only know you as Mr. M. There are a lot of good developers here who like anyone else in the industry like to know who they do business with.

Having said all that, I've been working on a racing game myself but I have hit a road block (punt intended) with vehicle collisions. Also, I don't have many of the features you are looking for so I don't think that I could have a full game ready in a month. You are more than welcome to check out my profile for info.

Still, let us know if there is anything else we might be able to help you with Mr. M. :)

Thx!

Just posted the project in rentacoder(Bid Request Id: 483262) too. You can see my profile there (if interested). I have got projects done before in rentacoder so you will see positive feedback (since everyone seems sooooo afraid!!!). I really don't know how a project description can be harsh. I need a simple game for promotional use and posted it here. Didn't think I had to think about my writing skills when looking for a job done.

Would be interested but small funds for a tiny crammed development time makes for not that great a project

I wish I had more time but unfortunately do not :(

You may be disappointed if people submit bids higher than your max bid for your project. You might also put together some sort of design document, if only a short one. The Garage Games folks usually recommend a KISS method (Keep It Simple, Stupid)--get your basic, no-frills game made and test it for playability.

Best of luck to you!

I am writing a detail document, but since time is short I posted the initial requirements here. Well if I get quality work in time, I may extend the max bid for them

How much money?
does it have to be with torque?

where is the link to the rentacoder page?

Click The rentacoder link is here

It can be in gamestudio A6 or Torque. I don't prefer any other engine but if you suggest a better one I will look into it.

Thanks

Hmm well with torque.
you dont have a license so you dont get the code is that ok?

I've not used A6, I can do this with torque or Ogre.

with Ogre you can have the code.

let me check how much cash you are offering.

Edit:
hmm 1k huh..
well what about the content where is all that coming from?
(levels, cars, coins)

say's you want the code but you will have to buy a license for torque first if torque is used.

Ogre does not have networking so I would not want to put networking in as well given such a short time line.

If you help resolve the content issue I would place a bid.
but I will not provide content and the application for that much money.

If you took my post as "lame," then you should perhaps re-read it, then re-read your original post. Gokhan Sivrikaya was right. If you want responses, you need to give details when you are posting a project.

And thanks for the offer, but I think I'm going to turn this one down ;) Good luck with your project.

I saw one racer demo (http://server.conitec.net/down/cardemo.zip) created in gamestudio. I have the code for this, I can build on to it. Email me if you interest and we dicuss it but it will cost money.

Why are you guys coaching this guy on how to post a job opportunity? Next time maybe he will be able to actually trick someone into working for him.
