Are there any free 3D Modeling Programs for Mac besides Blender?

I am currently trying to teach myself Blender but the UI is a bit challenging. Are there any other free 3D programs that I can use for Mac?

Thanks in advance

I would encourage you to keep at blender. Nothing compares at the price. I actually perfer it now.

Getting to know shortcut keys for select(b), extrude(e), grab(g), scale(s), knife cuts(k), are really helpful to know right off.

Im by no means a professional, but i have dabbled in a few modeling programs... perhaps that's why blender worked out for me so well... I had very few learned conventions to compare it to.

I agree, I would encourage you to keep at Blender. I would definitely check out the Blender wiki: Blender3D: Noob To Pro. It's an excellent set of tutorials. There are also some very good video tutorials on the net for exporting blender objects to DTS format.

There is another program I saw called Cheetah3D, which looks nice. It's not free, but only $99. As far as I know, there is no export to DTS format, but you can export to a lot of other formats and from there to DTS, I believe.

I'm not claiming to be an expert with blender3D at all. But I had a bit of an "Ah ha!" moment last week with the video tutorials at http://www.rstralberg.com/blendertuts.html They are great. As Chris wrote, getting a handle on just a few of the shortcuts goes a long way to becoming comfortable with Blender.

Mac also has lightwave 3D (around 900 dollars) and Maya (Around 2 grand).

**Whoops never mind I went and reread the title. I missed the free the first time.**

Wings3D is available for Mac. No animation, so import to Blender for that and UV.

Winds3D is pretty much the gold standard for free modellers.

On that note, has anyone tried dim3 Inspire? www.littlegenerals.com/inspire It's a fork of one of the dim3 (mac 3D engine) tools. I'm not an artist, so I don't have an opinion worth anything, but it looks pretty promising. I like the auto bone generation.

I checked out the Wings site, not as pretty as the Blender site - I might DL that and give it a whirl though.
